    Harry and Ginny’s Story

Harry first sees Ginny alongside with her family that was willing to board the Hogwarts Express; he sees her attempting to catch up with the train with both laugher and tears. Harry notices her when he overhears her begging her mother to get on the train with the rest of her brothers as she wanted to meet the famous Harry Potter but her mother refuses stating that Harry is not a zoo animal.

Ginny becomes more involved in the book at Harry’s second year at Hogwarts where she is a newcomer. She tends to be away from all the action at the start but what wasn’t known is that she is the reason why all the unfortunate events were happening. She has been the reason why there were several attacks throughout the year that left muggle-born students injured and petrified. Harry later on discovers that a magical diary of Tom Riddle (who was Voldermort) was possessing her and controlling her so she can open the Chamber of Secrets and release the Basilisk. Ginny with no sense of awareness tells Tom about how Harry managed to defeat Lord Voldermort, he changes his plan, and he takes Ginny down to the chamber to restore his life in the expense of hers. Riddle knew that Harry will take the role of a hero and will come down to the Chamber to free Ginny and thus he has come up with a plan to find out how Harry defeated him and he intends on killing him. Harry (with the company of Ron-Ginny’s brother-and Gilderoy Lockhart) opens the chamber successfully and with the assistance of Fawkes and the Sorting Hat, Harry defeats Riddle as well as the Basilisk and saves Ginny’s life. Harry’s main concern was Ginny but she seemed to have recovered and learnt a lot from her bad choices/decisions.

Ginny doesn’t have that much of a role in the third and fourth book of Harry Potter. And she only directly interacts with Harry three times. In the 3rd book she’s noticed by Harry when she laughs at Percy’s attempts to impress his girlfriend. In the 4th book Ginny smiled at him and they spoke with confidence in the presence of each other but not to each other. Later on she attended the Yule Ball with Neville Longbottom even though Ron told her to go with Harry who she is still crushing on.

Ginny no longer allowed her crush to affect her behavior around Harry. Ginny knows how to connect with Harry when he’s really upset but Ron and Hermione who can also connect with him well end up upset too. In one scene Harry struggles in miserable thoughts where he was a weapon that Voldermort uses to attack innocent people, feeling down and not prepared to have any conversations Ginny as well as Ron and Hermione talked Harry in the idea that he is not possessed, Ginny especially knew how it felt and assured him that he is fine. Harry forgot about that and apologized truly to Ginny. Ginny was also a part of a very significant scene where Harry opens up about how much he wants to see Sirius. Ginny provided comfort and assistance to Harry which actually surprised him because he felt a mysterious lump in his throat which could be a sign that he is starting to fall (subconsciously) in love with Ginny.Ginny leaves Michael as he was “sulky” and a “bad loser” over the fact that his house team lost a Quidditch match to her house team. He dates Cho Chang who happens to be Harry’s recent ex-girlfriend and Seeker of Ravenclaw. At the end of the year Ron tells Ginny to choose a better boyfriend next time and gave Harry a furtive look, but Ginny said that she already chose Dean Thomas.

At the beginning of the sixth book we learn that Ginny is with Dean Thomas and from Harry and Ron’s point of view she’s “too popular for her own good”.
Ginny’s old relationship and current relationship with Dean made her forget about Harry and her crush on him even though Harry started to have feelings for her now that he saw her with someone else. After Christmas things got worse for Ginny and Dean and they decided to call it quits on April (with the assistance of Harry’s lucky potion – Felix Felicis). Harry was really worried about Ron’s reaction to the situation but took advantage of each moment he had with her. After Gryffindor won the Quidditch cup Harry passionately kissed Ginny during the after-party in front of all their classmates (including Ron). Ron approved of their relationship as well as Hermione with enthusiasm. After Albus Dumbledore dies, Harry ended his relationship with Ginny worrying that Voldermort would try to hurt Ginny. Ginny accepts Harry’s decision stating she has seen this coming. She finds his loyalty is one of the most amazing characteristics anyone can have and that’s what she loved about him. She also stated that she never gave up on him and that Hermione advised her to just be relaxed wherever he’s around and he’ll sure take notice of her. Even though their relationship wasn’t long Harry felt that Ginny made him happier than he had been for a long time and considered it to be miraculous. Harry, however, never told Ginny about the prophecy that stated Harry was Voldermort’s only opponent nor of the information Harry was told about by Dumbledore about Voldermort’s past as Dumbledore instructed him to only tell Ron and Hermione.

The two of them saw each other again, when Harry came over to the Burrow a few months later. While he was there, he and Ginny remembered the time they had spent together, demonstrating the strength of their feelings for each other. On Harry’s 17th birthday, the two of them passionately kissed in Ginny’s bedroom as something for him to remember her by. The two were separated for several months while Harry tracked down Horcruxes with Ron and Hermione while Ginny returned to Hogwarts, but they still held feelings for one another. Both of them took part in the Battle of Hogwarts, although Harry was reluctant to let Ginny participate. During his “sacrifice” to Voldemort, Harry thought of Ginny, and later in the battle, after Ginny was nearly killed by Bellatrix Lestrange, Harry ran at Bellatrix, rather than Voldemort, but was beaten to it by Mrs. Weasley.

After Voldemort’s defeat, Harry and Ginny were free to continue their relationship. Between 1998 and 2017, they married and had three children: James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. Albus was Harry’s only child who inherited his grandmother’s eyes (and, in turn, Harry’s eyes), while Lily was the only one who inherited Lily and Ginny’s red hair.
