The biography
Ronald Bilius Weasley was born to Arthur and Molly Weasley on March 1, 1980. The sixth of seven children, he grew up outside of Ottery St. Catchpole in England, in a home lovingly referred to as The Burrow. As one of the youngest of 7 children, he was raised in a hectic household full of explosions, shouts, chaos, and lots of Molly Weasley’s scrumptious cooking. The Weasleys lived in semi poverty, subsisting on Arthur’s meager Ministry salary, but made up for it with the warmth a family so large can supply. One by one, Ron’s older brothers went off to Hogwarts and became popular, quidditch stars, prefects, Head Boys, and pranksters.
Feeling he had much to live up to, and a large shadow to get out of, the youngest Weasley Boy set out on his first year of Hogwarts in 1991. Armed with a homemade lunch, second hand robes and books, and apprehension, Ron made his way to the train station to go to school with his three brothers who were still enrolled. It was on Platform 9 3/4 that fate would change Ron Weasley’s life forever.
As he was entering the platform with his mother and sister (Ginny, the youngest Weasley), a scared young boy wearing clothes too large for him and taped up glasses looked to Mrs. Weasley for help in literally entering the Wizarding world. Ron’s mother gladly helped both boys get to the platform, and they shared a train car together.
Ron found out on that ride that he was sitting with Harry Potter. The Boy Who Lived. Hero of the Wizarding world. And he had candy. Lots of candy. Ron and Harry quickly became best friends. Ron saw something in Harry that drew them together. There was a warmth and kindness in him that made Ron feel at home. The fame was just a bonus.
Also, a girl entered their compartment that first day, looking for a lost toad. Her name was Hermione Granger and Ron instantly disliked her. She was bossy, pushy, infuriating, irritating, and her hair wilded about her head like a lion’s mane. Not to mention she had to point out the dirt on his nose. To Ron’s dismay, this girl would be in his house as well.
Ron, his new best friend Harry, and Hermione Granger all were put into Gryffindor…as had been the case with every one of his older brothers. Ron quickly got into the swing of things at school, his grades remained steady, his social life was okay, and he made all the right enemies (almost every Slytherin). One night that first year, on Holloween, Ron hurt Hermione Granger’s feelings and she went off to cry. That was his first adventure.
A troll was set loose in the dungeons, and Ron and Harry prompty went to find Hermione. Ron’s heart was in his throat fearing for this bossy little know it all’s life. Working together, Ron and Harry took down the troll. After that, the adventures became numerous, and Hermione joined them. By the end of their first year they had thwarted a three-headed dog, played life-sized chess, and then Harry was face to face the The Dark Lord himself. Ron went home that summer knowing that this was just the beginning.
Ron spent that summer writing letters to Harry and Hermione. But they only came back from Hermione. So he and his new friend Miss Granger (who didn’t seem nearly so bad now) worried over Harry until finally Ron couldn’t take it. He stole his father’s car, with the help of his older twin brothers, flew to Surrey, and rescued Harry from the prison he was kept in.
School didn’t calm down much that year. Muggle-borns were getting frozen and Harry was hearing voices. The Trio spent most of that year trying to solve the mystery of the history of Salazar Slytherin and his heir, and why the muggleborns were being attacked. Harry got his answers after the horrifying day they discovered Hermione had fallen victim. Ron went into the forest, faught the spiders, and came out with answers enough to know who was responsible. It wasn’t Hagrid, as the Ministry thought. It was the spirit of Lord Voldemort.
Then Ginny Weasley was taken in the Chamber of Secrets, and Ron and Harry were on another adventure. Ron got caught behind a pile of rocks with a shady professor while Harry rescued his sister, killed a snake, and murdered a diary oddly enough.
Hermione was cured and came back. Ron was never happier to see someone in his life. He figured it was because he was glad she wasn’t dead.
Yep, just another normal year in the life of Ronald Bilius Weasley.
That summer, Ron went to Egypt to visit his brother Bill, and got a new wand to replace the one that had broken.
Third year proved to be just as entertaining. Hermione got a cat. A cat who didnt’ like his pet rat Scabbers. This caused them to argue, almost all year. Especially when Hermione’s cat Crookshanks attacked Scabbers and he disappeared.
To make matters worse, a madman was after Harry. No, not the usual one, but a new one. Sirius Black escaped prison, where he was serving a sentence for mass murder, and was now after Ron’s best friend. Ron’s bed was attacked in the search for Harry.
Hagrid’s pet hippogriff Buckbeak was sentenced to death for doing what any living thing would want to do…biting Draco Malfoy, and Hermione worked desperately on his appeal. But Draco’s dad had all the power, and Buckbeak was executed. Hermione hugged Ron then. It made him feel weird, but at least she wasn’t mad at him. And she slapped Malfoy. That girl really wasn’t so bad. And he kind of liked her hair.
Later that day, Ron was attacked by a dog, dragged into a hole, and taken to a haunted house. The dog was Sirius Black, who knew? Ron tried desperately to warn Harry and Hermione when they came to help him, but it was too late. So Ron stood between them and tried to make sure Harry and Hermione made it out of this. Turns out, Sirius is his godfather, not a bad guy, and Ron’s rat Scabbers is actually a bad guy in disguise!
Luckily for everyone Hermione had a timeturner, and Harry and Her managed to get Sirius out of harm’s way safely, and saved Buckbeak in the process.
Yep, this year was the most interesting one yet. At least he had a really cool scar to prove it!
That summer, by some miracle, Ron’s father scored tickets for everyone to the Quidditch World Cup. Of course Harry and Hermione came along. Ireland won, but Ron got to watch his hero, seeker Viktor Krum of Bulgaria, in action. It was a shame really that after the victory, Death Eaters stormed the camp and they had to hide in the woods. Someone tried to blame Harry for conjuring a Dark Mark, but then they discovered a house Elf named Winky who had a wand. Ron knew a House Elf wouldn’t do that, but at least Harry was off the hook.
That incident lighted up something irritating in Hermione Granger, and by the time school started, she had started S.P.E.W to save the houselves from enslavement. Ron didn’t agree, and was quite annoyed, but she couldn’t be swayed.
Fun times started at the school, as it was announced an multi-school tournament, the Tri Wizard Tournament, would be conducted. Ron was disappointed you had to be 17 to join, but hey, at least they had some excitement. Well, the kind that didn’t involve possible death.
But then Harry was entered, and Ron got angry. Very angry and very jealous. How could his best friend, most famous wizard in the world, join without telling him? They didn’ speak for qutie some time. However, the night Ron saw his older brother Charlie wrangling dragons for the first task, Ron couldn’t think Harry wanted to do this. No one would want to do this.
No one would want to ask a girl to a ball either, but they had to. In honor of the competition, the school held a Yule Ball, and they all needed dates. However Ron’s dream girl, Fleur, had rejected him…not surprising. Ron began to look at Hermione very differently and finally came up with the idea to go with her, while Harry could go with his little sister. The thought made him shudder, but heck, Harry needed a date too! Hermione and Ginny both had dates. Ron thought Hermione was just being coy. She couldn’t possibly have a date.
But as Ron ignored his date, Padma Patil, he discovered she did. She was on the arm of his hero, Viktor Krum. Ron had never been so jealous. He yelled at Hermione until he was blue in the face about things he didn’t even think held any relevence. How could she? Ron had never been jealous before. He was confused. This was worse than any giant snake.
But then Harry had to face Lord Voldemort…again…and he was back in full form. He killed Cedric and tried to kill Harry. But of course Harry narrowly escaped death again. Now Voldemort was back, and no one’s life would be the same.
Ron spent that summer at Sirius Black’s old house, Grimmauld Place, while his parents and MANY other adults he knew started a new organization to battle Voldemort. Since the Ministry didn’t want to confirm he was back, his parents and their friends, including his Headmaster Dumbledore, would fight on the sly. They called themselves the Order fo the Phoenix…and Ron was miserably kept in the dark.
Luckily for him, Hermione spent a large amount of the summer there as well. With Krum all they way in Bulgaria, he could have his friend back with only temporary flares of jealousy. Harry was mad to be kept in the dark when he finally arrived, but they were all just doing as told. Ron took his yelling in stride, and only flared when Harry began to yell at Hermione. No one should yell at her, though he was not sure why he felt that way.
Fifth year passed with Ron making the Quidditch Team, Hermione kissing him good luck (on the cheek…but tell that to Victor!), and his father being attacked by yet another snake. Luckily he was well by Christmas, but Harry was being haunted by visions. They also had a new teacher who brought the Ministry in with her to control their school. She eventually drove out Dumbledore and ended decent education. But Hermione came up with a secret club to learn to fight Voldemort on the sly, called Dumbledore’s Army. This club full of action, his best friends, and NO SPEW. Best club ever, in Ron’s opinion.
And soon, Harry was leading a miniature army into the Minstry of Magic to rescure Sirius Black, only to be ambushed by Deatheaters. Ron was distracted by brains, but he knows that Sirius was killed by Bellatrix Lestrange. Everyone was hurt. And someone was dead. Things were only going to get worse from there. The friends now knew that Harry was meant to fight Voldemort. There was a prophecy stating as much. Ron went home feeling unsafe, fearful for the lives of his friends, and fearing for his family as well.
The summer of his fifth year brought an entertaining distraction in the form of his former dream girl, Fleur. She was apparently going to marry his brother Bill. Ron liked having her around, because she was very fun to look at, and her Veela powers had a strong effect on him. Hermione and Ginny didn’t like her much, and Ron wasn’t sure why. Soon, even with Voldemort plotting and scheming, they were back as school, starting their sixth year.
Ron made the Quidditch team, a small bright spot in a dreary beginning. The new potion’s professor, Slughorn, seemed to pick favorites, and everyone he hung out with was included but him. Ron was jealous to say the least. To make matters worse, Hermione didnt’ seem to think he could have made the Quidditch team on his own. This hurt Ron more than he had expected. He’d been growing a soft spot for her, and if he could ever muster up the courage, he might ask her to Hogesmeade. This was hard, however, as she was his friend.
While all this was happening, Harry kept learning about Voldemort’s past. Ron had a funny feeling that Dumbledore was preparing Harry for battle. Ron began to prepare too.
Luckily Hermione beat him to the punch and asked him to that damned party Slughorn was throwing. Ron was walking on air. The air left his lungs when he saw his baby sister snogging some bloke he thought was his friend in the hallway. Ginny and Dean didn’t seem to care how she looked! Harry was distracted by something, and didn’t back him up. Soon, Ginny was mocking Ron, as he had never had a proper snog and everyone else had. Including Hermione.
He showed them all, with Lavender Brown. She seemed so into him, a first for Ron. So Ron snogged her like mad, whenever he could. He was happy to have someone like him so much, and happy that it seemed to interrupt Hermione’s happiness with Krum. Even though Hermione attacked him with canaries, his little scheme was working. However, To Ron’s dismay, she decided to take Cormac McClaggen to the Christmas party, which might have been his least favorite person on the planet at the moment. Well, he would just have to snog Lavender more.
All of that changed when Ron woke up in the Hospital wing after his birthday. He had been poisoned by some mead meant for Dumbledore and Harry’s quick thinking saved him. In this new world, with this new lease on life, all bitterness between he and Hermione was forgotten, and she was at his side again. Now all he had to do was break it off with Lavender. Again, luck was on his side, as she broke it off with him out of jealousy over Hermione. She wasn’t too far off base, that one.
After the Lavender chapter of his life ended, Ron Weasley woke up, in almost a literal sense. Things between him and Hermione hadn’t gone back to normal, they had gone to something better. He liked her. He always knew that, but now it had become something more, and Ron was working on getting over his fears and telling her about it. The days were positively sunny when he was with her, and her disposition wasn’t that bad either.
Ron had a rude wake up call after a particularly good quidditch victory when Harry was suddenly snogging his sister in front of everyone. When Harry looked to Ron, panicked, for permission, Hermione had gracefully smiled….leading Ron to believe he had to at least tolerate this. Harry seemed to really love her.
But Harry was still meeting with Dumbledore, and the things he was brining back to Ron and Hermione spoke of a foreboding like they had never considered before. Voldemort was splitting his soul, and hiding the pieces all over. Harry would likely have to find them before attempting to destroy The Dark Lord. So much for romance. Ron and Hermione knew what was important. Nothing else mattered.
That principle became very clear the night Harry disappeared with Dumbledore, leaving behind some Felix Felices (lucky potion) for Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, and Ginny. Soon after, while He had Hermione waited with worry, DeathEaters attacked. His brother was mauled by a werewolf. Everyone was alive, but barely.
Harry returned, safe, but upon returning, Dumbledore was murdered by a man he trusted, but a man Ron never liked. Professor Snape, now a confirmed Deatheater, fled before anyone could exact revenge.
Ron held Hermione as they cried during Dumbledore’s funeral. Their journey was a lonely one now, as Ron, Harry, and Hermione planned to find and destroy the horcruxes.
That is the path Ron Weasley found himself on the summer before what should be his seventh year. As his family bustled around to plan for the nuptials of his oldest brother and one time Tri Wizard Champion Fleur Delacour, Ron was trying to figure out how he was going to tell his parents he wasn’t going back to school, but instead following Harry on his mission.
Hermione arrived quickly that summer, and buried herself behind books to help them on their mission. Ron contributed where he could, but he was busy with a different book. He had received “12 Fail Safe Ways to win and charm witches” from his twin brothers, and he was trying his damndest to figure out what to do with this Hermione situation he found himself in.
While all of that was occurring, he had to summarily comfort Hermione, who was feeling horrible about having to protect her parents by modifying their memories. But also he had to give the ghoul in the attic spattergoit to hide his real whereabouts. Not to mention deal with his mum, who was planning a wedding and his death.
The plan to get Harry from his house was also a messy one. 7 people, including himself and Hermione had polyjuiced into ‘Harry Decoys’ with escorts. None of them made it out without a fight, and Ron took down a few Deatheaters with the help of Tonks. Luckily everyone arrived okay, though his brother George was missing an ear. Ron hugged Hermione tightly, ignoring his insecurity and just happy to have her back.
The wedding came, and with it, came Ron’s romantic rival Victor Krum. But Ron mustered up courage, and instead of clocking that cocky Vicky, he danced happily with Hermione. While Harry, polyjuiced and miserable from having broken up with Ginny for her safety, Ron and Hermione enjoyed many songs close together on the happy floor. That is, until Kingsley Shackelbolt’s patronus dropped down and they had to run. Quickly Hermione apparated them to a cafe in London to hide Harry. They hid in Grimmauld Place, where they slept all together in the living room, and Ron was relaxed to have Hermione very near. But they had to leave. They had to keep going. The journey had begun.
Soon, in the wake of fear for muggleborns (especially for Hermione), fear for the end of their world, fear for his family and friends, the trio had set out on a camping trip to find the horcruxes of Voldemort. They got a hold of one horcrux by invading the Ministry under polyjuice and stealing it from Umbridge herself. But this locket had it’s consequences.
The locket brought about the worst in everyone, and tortured Ron with thoughts he always had, but that were now screaming at him. One night, Ron became so worried over his family, so frustrated about the mission, and so angry that he started and argument with Harry. Harry told him to leave. Ron looked to Hermione, but she was staying. Ron took it as a statement of her true feelings for him and left. Apparating anywhere that wasn’t that damned campsite.
The moment he left, and the locket was gone, he wanted to go back. But he was attacked by snatchers, and by the time he escaped he could no longer find Harry and Hermione. Ron stayed in hiding at Bill and Fleur’s, trying to swallow his shame. One night, the deluminator he received in Dumbledore’s will echoed his name spoken in Hermione’s voice, and the strange contraption guided him back there, guided him home.
His welcome included pulling Harry from an icy pond, watching the locket torture him with /images of Harry and Hermione being intimate, and finally destroying the locket himself with the Sword of Gryffindor. Harry and him reconciled and went back to the camp to try to win Hermione back. She was angry with him, to say the least, but in a few weeks time, she had warmed to him again.
The joy in being reconciled with her was short lived. Harry spoke Voldemort’s name, violating the taboo, and the snatchers caught them and took them to Malfoy Manor. They were going to turn Harry over to Voldemort. But first, Bellatrix became very interested in the Sword of Gryffindor and wanted to question the trio. She picked Hermione. Ron begged for it to be him, but of course he was put in the dungeon. So went the worst night of his life while he sobbed and listened to Hermione’s screams as she was tortured.
By some stroke of luck in the darkest hour, Dobby appeared, and they escaped barely, apparated to Bill and Fleur’s house again. There, Ron let go of all pretense, and waiting by Hermione’s side until she woke and was deemed okay. Then, he went outside to help Harry bury Dobby. The stakes were higher now, and they were on to Gringotts to break into a vault and destroy another horcrux.
The break in was successful, ignoring the fire and dragons they had to get through to get that damned cup. They flew on the back of a dragon and made their way to Hogwart’s, where they would destroy the cup, find the last remaining horcrux (the Ravenclaw Diadem) and call for the final battle.
While Harry was in Dumbledore’s office, finding answers, Ron and Hermione figured out a way to destroy the cup. They went down to the Chamber of Secrets, gathered basilisk fangs, and Hermione destroyed the cup. When they came back, Harry was waiting and the war was about to begin. They had to empty the school.
But Ron grew concerned about the House Elves. He didn’t want them all to die like Dobby did. For some reason, that did it. Ron her a clatter as Hermione dropped all her things, and she flew into his arms. She kissed him, and in that moment, she was his and he was hers. He happily kissed her back, and he would have probably never stopped if Harry hadn’t reminded them that there was a war going on.
The whole of the light side of the wizarding world fought bravely and many fell. Ron lost a brother, one of the twins named Fred, and many friends and mentors. Ron had thought he lost Harry, only to have Harry come back and defeat the Dark Lord once and for all. They had made it through the war, with everyone in tact.
Not much is known about Ron Weasley after that great battle, but we do know this. He married Hermione and they had two children, Rose and Hugo. Hermione became the equivalent of a magical lawyer. Ron helped his brother George to get back on his feet after the loss of Fred, and helped out in their shop as well. Soon, Ron became an Auror, with Harry as his boss.
Ron Weasley was a brave man, and now lives a happy and peaceful life with his lovely wife Hermione and two lovely children. At the time of this biography Rose is now three years old, and Hugo is a meager 12 months. Ron and Hermione enjoy their jobs at the Ministry and spending time with their very large extended family. All is well.
